Overview

The development of a country is measured in terms of the health of the people and the services, rendered to the sick and needy. Pushpagiri College of Nursing, started in the year 2002, believes in training professional Nurses from all over the country to meet the great challenges of services in the field of Nursing. The college is recognized by INC, K.NC and affiliated to M.G. University Kottayam. It offers Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme of our year duration with one year compulsory internship. The annual intake is 50.

The college prepares the students to develop ability to handle situation and problems critically and take responsibilities for the higher education for maximum professional effectiveness throughout their career. Further our college believes in a system of Nursing education that fits the educational patterns globally to meet the needs of todays modern society.

Facilities

Pushpagiri College of Nursing started in 2002, recognized by INC, K.NC and is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. The college offers Basic B.Sc Nursing programme of 4 year duration and one year compulsory internship.

The Pushpagiri College of Nursing is housed in the Pushpagiri complex spread in 40 acres scenic plot situated in the Municipal Town of Tiruvalla but quite away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The Medical College hospital with 1250 beds and 23 specialtiey and super-speciality departments is also located in this campus and it provides ample opportunity for clinical experience.

The college is spacious and has classrooms with most modern teaching equipment with perfect ambience and has a well stocked library and reading room with internet facilities. The laboratories of fundamentals of Nursing, Nutrition and Maternal & Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing are well equipped. The Anatomy Museum with record number of specimens and the Physiology Laboratory arranged for M.B.B.S course are made available to under-graduate nursing students as well.

The Hospital has two rural Community Health Centers and one Urban Community Health Centre and they provide wide opportunity for practical experience in Community Health Care Programme in its broad perspective. The teaching consists of permanent full time academicians with ample experience in various reputed colleges in India and abroad. Separate hostel facility for boys is provided. There are enough facilities for both outdoor and indoor recreation and extra curricular activities.
