Facilities
Laboratories under Department of Pathology
- Haematology and Clinical Pathology
I P Laboratory - 24 hrs. service
OP Laboratory - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
All routine investigations available-
Haemogram by automated cell counter
Coagulation studies - by fully automatic machine.
- Blood Bank - Licensed and fully equipped. 24 hrs. service.
- Facilities for safe whole blood transfusion including screening for Hepatitis C.
- Blood grouping and blood collection camps conducted periodically and on request.
- Histopathology Laboratory
8 a.m.- 4.30 p.m.
Surgically removed and biopsy specimens from our hospital and outside hospitals accepted. Results will be given on 2nd or 3rd day.
- Cytology Laboratory
8 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
Result will be ready on the same day.
- Autopsy study of dead body and foetal autopsies are done to confirm cause of death ( Evisceration can be done on request )

- 4 Senior faculty members - Retired teaching faculty of Kerala Govt. Medical Education Department.
- 4/5 Junior faculty members - all holding MD in Pathology.
- Required non teaching staff of various categories are also available.

Services
Four hospital Laboratories function under the Department of Pathology.
- Clinical Pathology and Haematology
- Blood Bank
- Histopathology
- Cytology
Histopathology Laboratory is under the direct supervision of Professor of Pathology. The junior teaching faculty who are the Medical Officers in-charge manages all other Laboratories. Autopsy services are provided on request.
