CLINICAL BIOCHEMISTRY - Biochemicals are estimated in body fluids for diagnosis, treatments and prognosis of diseases.
The Department of Biochemistry renders teaching and other academic activities for the MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing and Dialysis Technician Course Students and also a 24 hour laboratory service to the hospital.
The Department of Biochemistry plans to start Graduate, Post-Graduate and Research Programme in Biochemistry.

Facilities
A well equipped Students' Laboratory for doing qualitative and quantitative analysis. A well arranged Lecture Hall, Demonstration Hall, Conference Hall, Library, Research Laboratory and Staff Rooms.
The 24 hour Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory carries out approximately 1000 investigations per day including samples referred from neighbouring Hospitals and Laboratories. The Laboratory is well equipped with latest sophisticated instruments including Hitachi-902 fully Autoanalysers, Nova Arterial Blood Gas Analysers, Coda and mini VIDAS Immuno-Analysers, ILyte Electrolyte Analysers for carrying out routine and special investigations.
