Case Of The Month

A 11 year old boy reported to the department of pedodontics & preventive dentistry at Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences with a complaint of irregularly placed upper front teeth.

Examination revealed an incorrect interarch relatioship with negative overjet and overbite. treatment was planned to move the teeth labiolingually and to expand the arch using a modified Quad Helix appliance (m-Quad Helix) which was designed and developed at the department of pedodontics & preventive dentistry, Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences.

Positive overjet and overbite were achieved, interarch relatioship was corrected with this appliance in 3 months after which the appliance was discontinued and the patient is kept on a 3 month recall.
